Herpes Zoster Ophthalmicus is caused by varicella zoster virus (Shingles) reactivation within the ophthalmic division of the trigeminal nerve.


At present there are no FDA-approved medical countermeasures for COVID-19, and the main tactic against the spread is social distancing, which has widespread social and economic impact.

Given this, there is widespread unmet medical need for products that reduce transmission of COVID-19. We have proposed to FDA that Hexagen® be applied intranasally to reduce spread of Covid-19, as viral load in infected individuals is known to be higher in the nose than the throat.
